One the way home from an evening trail ride I noticed my rear end felt kinda like I had a low tire. Upon washing it off I noticed one of the loops(that goes around axle housing) was broken in the same place top and bottom on the left side. Is it possible to weld this back together as long as the loop is the same size as the other side????
A new Polaris Swingarm is 139.99 at the dealer. Has anyone welded either of these loops an still ride today without problems???

If you weld the loop the inside of the loop HAS to be smooth. It can be done.It would be cheaper to bring it to a machine shop(if your not a good welder)and have it done.

Yes I had this happen to my Scram 4 yrs ago I had a welding shop weld it and it has not cracked since. I didn`t even need to remove the swing arm they just hoisted the rear up so it was standing on the front bumper to weld the bottom.

Mine didn`t break all the way I caught it when it was just a crack so make sure it goes back together exactly for correct alignment. Mine was the left side also and I found it was only welded on 3 of the 4 sides. I don`t know if this was a mistake or intentional but I had all 4 welded when they repaired it cost $50 for 1 hr labor. HTH
