700 mods...results...wow!

Hey Guys,
I haven't contributed anything in quite some time...
I was a little diappointed with the torque in high range off the line on my 700, the dealer advised me to change the spring in the primary to the white one. This made a noticable difference, but I wanted more. I've looked at the airbox intake and figured it could be opened up a little. I ordered an extra snorkel(in case it didn't work, I could put my old one back on) and cut the tube off at the square section, before it tapers down to the tube. I than fastened on a 2 1/4"ID rad hose with a clamp and scilicone, and tucked the hose up under the tank, where the old one used to be. I used about 6" of hose and I had to remove the foam insert that went around the two intakes.
The new airbox snorkel cost about $26 Canadian, I found a chunk of rad hose for nothing so it was a cheap mod.
Results...wow!!!!! It gave me alot more power in the low and mid range. I have two buddies with the 700's as well, and after I changed the spring in the clutch they were able to smoke me every time. With the airbox mod the tables turned. Now off the line I can get two quad lengths in about 50'.
Very happy with the results.

Did you have to re-jet? I didn't think the airbox mods helped much on the 4-strokes. But I guess the 700 might have been designed after the sp'500 airbox. If you have pics, I would like to see.

I have a picture, but its still on the camera,(no digital yet). I didn't have to rejet, up here in Canada they seem to run a little rich from factory, we're at about 2600 to 2900 feet.
I didn't know if it would make a difference either, but, the amount of air it allowed in made a huge difference.
