500 OVER 600 AND 700
#1
THE 500 H.0 HAS ALL THE POWER ANY ONE WOULD EVER NEED. AND I RODE THEM ALL ALOT. ONE CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT ON THE 500 AND ITS EVEN BETTER. SO WHY PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT HASNT HAD ALOT OF TIME ON THE TRAIL WHEN YOU CAN SAVE A COUPLE BUCKS AND GET SOMETHING PROVEN TO LAST.

B/C in this country bigger is better. We worry about top speed when you can never open it up. We worry about having 1000hp when 25 will do all the work you will need.
Having said that I have no problem with it I say if 1 is good 4 must be great!

I also have ridden the 500 and 700 (which I own) extensively. I have not ridden the 600 yet. I do not agree that the 500 has all of the power. The 700 is "labored" much less at high speeds than the 500. Secondly, the 700 will do 55-60 without breaking a sweat, and tops out over 65. The 500 is hard pressed to break 60-65 (unless modified). On long open trails, this really counts. I have ridden many miles in Michigan's UP with my buddy who owns the 500, and he is always trying to keep up with my stock 700 on the straits. Sure, the 700 does have it's quirks, but it is still the biggest, and baddest 4x4 out there. Additionally, the 700 is superior to the 500 because of the following features:
-WAY better brakes (rear specifically)
-LCD display for PRNHL, Odometer, Trip OD, Hours, Service intervals
-Improved shift mechanism
-Braided brake lines
Don't get me wrong, the 500 is an AWESOME and proven machine --- it's just that the 700 is bigger and better (even though it is a gas hog).
Kevlar1
-02' SP700 (BL / Gry)
-99' Grand prix GTP (supercharged)
-90' GMC Z71
-78' Camaro Z-28 4spd.
-85' Monte Carlo w/ 350sb / TH350 tran. / 3:73 richmond gear
-Next toy: CORVETTE Z06??

There are things on the 500Ho the 700 should have (recoil starter) the 700 has new front hubs, a rear diff instead of a trans axle and a new front bumper. Not that I'm telling you guys anything new, it all boils down to how much power a person wants. Buy a 700 to have the biggest, buy a 600 to have more power than a 500, and buy a 500 for less money and upgrade/modify when time comes. I've been sitting here pawing through the 03 booklet... Starting to get the new quad fever... Need cold shower before my girlfriend gets home.
I'd like a 500 twin with everything the 700/600 offer but with recoil starting...
