Default Polaris 600 twin??????

Yes I'm an Arctic Cat owner but I have a question. My nephew claims that Polaris is coming out with a 600 twin. Is he right?? I've been away from the atv connection for a great while and I may have missed something.

Later Polaris,

I bought one a little over a week ago. Production number 301. It is one sweet ride. I can e-mail you a pic if you like.

So what kind of gas mileage are you getting on the 600? I heard the 700 sucks lots and lots of gas.

thanks,
Eric

It really depends on your riding style. It's really hard to not open up this twin on the straight aways. It is so smooth and the power is downright fun. I'd round it off to about 70 miles to a tank full. Our terrain is so rough here that it would take me forever to drive 70 miles. This bike WILL wheelie! My dealer and I ran two uphill drag races between the 700 and 600 and whatever bike I was on; won. This was a very steep paved hill, so torque should have played a big part in each race. The 700 had a disturbing bog when I nailed it and the 600 revved right out with no hesitation. This was at 5000 ft.
An interesting thing that we all agreed on was that the 600 and 700 both felt more stable flying back down the paved hill than the 03 500 did. I wanted so badly to purchase the Spruce 500, but the 600 sold me in a big way.

Ya I am leaning towards the 600 myself. Like I said the gas mileage thing I am a bit concerned about. I wish they had the 500 in the silver and black. That is a sweat combo. The quad probably feels more stable than the 500 since it weighs more.

Gas cans are cheap and many people have complained about how quickly the black plastic gets ugly. My dealer is actually a good friend as we drag race together. He was very upfront about the black plastic. I took his word for it and got the green. The silver and black does look great in my opinion. Good luck in your decision. By the way; I'm Eric too. Shots, you want a sweet combo? My dealer has 4 '03 500s Spruce/Vapor with multimount system and chrome/Rawhides. Said he'd make me a sweet deal on one.

Me: "Oh reeeeaaaaallllly"
Wife:" What about this black one you ordered 2 months ago?"

Me:"One's for you honey...heh,heh"
Wife:"".

how fast does the 600 twin go. Iv had my 700 at 72mph on a gps. It took a while before this beast started breathing, but it took off at about 1/2 of a mile. I was riding with a grizz and the griz beat me off the line, but after the 1/2 mile came i started to pull away. so about how fast does this beast run?

I have a blue 600 with about 100 miles on it. It seems to run better each time I take it out. Right now its getting from 16 to 18 mpg which is what i got with my HO. Love the sound of the twin and is a very torguey machine. The tires are awesome.
