My son races our Ozark in atv rodeo's and there has never been a Trailboss show up that can outrun a stock Trailblazer in the dragracing events. Normally you see from 3 to 4 tenths difference. Add a pipe to both of them and you will be doing the 2 stroke Trailblazer a bigger favor. A Ritter stage 1 kit does wonders for the little 250. 58 MPH ? How big was the hill? LOL

It still seems like kind of a low rating. My guess would of been around 16-18hp for a stock one.

My dad has a just got a new 325 Trail Boss and here is my opinion and keep in mind I have a 500 4x4 scrambler and just sold my banshee so I generally like to ride sports quads but my dad just wanted something to ride with us sometimes and to work with a little. When my scrammy was in the shop(minor problem that warranty fixed) I ride the trail boss alot. I am a big guy 6'1 and 275 pounds the trail boss is not a power house and not a speed demon but carried me well and is a good handling and very forgiving quad. If it stands out in any one area it would be on the trails where it runs with the best of em. I took it trough water,up hills and it did it just as well if not better than any other 2wd quad that was riden with me. It is very very comfortable with the wide seat. It not a race quad nor does polaris make it out to be so for anybody who wants to race, buy a race quad , but this quad does power slide well around corners and turns very sharply, it is real easy to sling around on dirt and like I said is very forgiving. Overall I think the Trail boss is the best bang for the buck given that you can get them very resonable, It dont do anything great just every thing well , but if she is used to the power of the warrior she may miss the power on the tb but will love the atv overall. Great trail quad, begginer, women, or any body that just wants a normal atv, lets face it everybody dont need or want to even have a sports quad even in my opinion that is the fun ones, lol

My brother has a 2000 Trailboss, Very comfy seat nice trail quad. No guts at all! The 13.1hp sounds about right. 48-50 mph that is funny I hope you were talking about a modified one. It does 42MPH tops GPS recorded! Well at least his does can't speak for them all. When I go out for a ride with the kids I love riding the TB. No clutch no gears just a nice comfy ride putt putting around with the kids is great.

Hold on everyone. You can't be comparing HP ratings coming off of different dyno's. They can vary significantly. Not saying the numbers posted are wrong though. It's just bad practice. Forget the hp ratings, because other factors such as handling, weight of machine, suspension, etc.... should also be concidered.

A friend of mine bought one when they first came out and has no problems that weren't brought on by the rider. It is a good trail quad and really wasn't designed for performance use. I would guess his to run around 43 or so maybe 45 with his 12 year old on it. It can take a lot of abuse and is quieter than the 2 stroke Trailblazer. The Trailblazer is also available in a 400 and that would make a sweet choice as well.
