Check the clutches carefully for wear. I have never fried a belt on any of my machines including my 1993 trail boss which I road hard for 8 years. Normal wear for the larger machines like the Magnums and Sportsmans is 2 to 3 years. I would run the stock belt but there are several brands out there to include HPD, Gates and Dayco. The 700 belt is seamless but I do not know what the advantages of the 700 belt are.

If you want to save some money and still get a good belt then go to NAPA to get your belt. Gates makes the HPD belt and Napa carries Gates. I got the HPD belt number and went to Napa and they cross refrenced the belt. It was half the cost of HPD for the same belt! But just like i said Gates is the manufacturer of HPD belts so why pay more for the same belt?
