Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

The cheapest belt you can find. But be sure your clutches are in good shape no bad buttons or springs.I have polaris belts on both of mine and get 2 to 3 years of hard riding out of them.

I would use the 700 belt.We now use that belt on all of our atv's that have ebs.(enginebrakingsystems)The lifetime warranty on belts started in 2001 i think????

Check the clutches carefully for wear. I have never fried a belt on any of my machines including my 1993 trail boss which I road hard for 8 years. Normal wear for the larger machines like the Magnums and Sportsmans is 2 to 3 years. I would run the stock belt but there are several brands out there to include HPD, Gates and Dayco. The 700 belt is seamless but I do not know what the advantages of the 700 belt are.

If you want to save some money and still get a good belt then go to NAPA to get your belt. Gates makes the HPD belt and Napa carries Gates. I got the HPD belt number and went to Napa and they cross refrenced the belt. It was half the cost of HPD for the same belt! But just like i said Gates is the manufacturer of HPD belts so why pay more for the same belt?

2manytoys,
does the gates belt that you have also work on the 500 scrambler? What is the part number for it?
Thanks

Bubba, 2manytoys thank all booth for that part # you saved me money when I brought my belt. But I think that belt is to had on the clutches for the riding he does I would suggest the Dayco, 700 or stock.
