Cat has made many improvements for '03 including engines with more power and suspension improvements(can't remember what though.) i think more independent suspensions or something.

03 cat improvements: Better brakes (larger pistons and new brake lines), Vinson 500 motor, IRS for all models except for the 90, new lime green plastic, manual/auto option for the 400 (last years 375) with an ACT/IRS option, TBX has IRS, and the MRP rack system.

Yeah, but you know where the engine in your Xplorer was made? (And all Polaris ATVs except the 700 and 600)

I got the impression that all bike motors except the 700 and 600 were from the producers of pearl harbor.

The engines say built by fuji, which is japanese. But Robin, which is also the same in this case, is built by Subaru. Hence the motors are built by Subaru.

There once was a man from Nantuckett, with a Prairie and oil in a bucket.
It leaked so badly, and he cried so sadly-
He vowed to the salvage yard and chuck it!
Praying to the LORD he cried aloud-
Why when it starts must there be such a cloud?!?
I see the Polaris, Yamaha, Honda and all of the rest,
Why, I raced a jr 50 and he came out best!
So I suppose I will hide in all this self-denial-
Make myself feel like a man, others I will rile,
Busting on brands that would spank my tail,
I need to go get another pail!!!

I can't bash 'em, I like them all. P650, P700, G660, Q650,Rinny, I'd take any one of these and be proud of it. The P650 suits my driving style, but this past summer while on vacation in Vermont I advised my brother-in-law to buy a 700 or 500HO. It fit his intended purposes better than a P650 would. He didn't like the lack of a backup starter on the 700 so he purchased a Ducks Unlimited 500HO. A great machine.
