my key on my 02 500 sticks sometimes and keeps the starter engageing.any thing i can spray in the key area to fix it.because the dealer i bought it from su#ks at warranty work "midwest polaris"

mine did the same thing. i took it apart and cleaned all the contacts and coated the inside with a water proof grease and now it works fine . hope this helps....

 

If you are using the rubber protected key it sometimes makes the starter stay engaged.
The rubber is not trimmed the right length on some of the 2002 keys causing this problem.
You can compare them to a key from a 2003 and see the difference. Try trimming about a
1/2 of inch off of it this has worked on all the ones We have seen.
