Magnum 330
It is by no means the most powerful. If you want something easy on the trails, nice to ride and still hunt the 330 should do you well. It won't get you there first but it will get you there. We've got the 325 Mag 4x4 with Rawhides and C Series wheels and it goes where my HO will until I high center. Good choice.

atvbuyer62,
the Magnum is a great ATV. like you, it was my first Polaris and i've been hooked ever since. mine was a 1995 Magnum 425 and it had more than enough power for my needs. to date, it's still in the family (i sold it to my brother) and it runs like new! yea it's scratched to all hell, but it runs top-notch and is very reliable.
i encourage you to try the Magnum. as for the power issue, the dealer should offer you a test drive ANYWAYS! they are supposed to. it's even a question on Polaris's Satisfaction Survey.
my last bit of advice is to shop the price. it seems like recently dealers have been about $900 apart in price on Sportsmans and i don't know if Magnums would have the same variable. $900 is a LOT of $$ to throw-out the window!
anyways, good luck and enjoy!

Magnum 330
I bought my son a 325 Mossy Oak Mag in 00 it's a great machine. sometimes smaller is better the 325 is more fun than my 700 at times, espesially in the snow and mud in 2WD the 700 dosn't like to spin it gets a little tippy probably because of the tires and weight. We live in North Jersey (tight trails and big hard woods) the Mag goes through effortlessly with plenty of power and great steering, so you have to weigh out your needs. It's a real good starter machine and make a good hand me down to a kid or to get your Wife or girlfriend into the sport, and that way you have an exuse to buy the 700 eventually
