Default 250 Xplorer Questions?

My bro has a 00 250 Xplorer 2stroke...anyone know of any aftermarket sites that list parts for this bike? He bought an Xtreme Pipe from NG but it only list the pipe for trial boss's..they said it would fit, but it didnt, the header peice didnt fit at all..we got it to work with the stock header peice, but we had to take a hammer to the middle of the pipe so it didnt rest on the plastic or any electronics..hes just looking for any other aftermarket parts..thanks!

Scotts88,
DG is the worst mod to do to the bike. HPD makes mods for the 2 stroke 250. The DG pipe will actually take hp away and make it slower because there is no clutch to go with the powerband. The dino test on DG for the 2 stroke has a 2hp loss. With HPD you gain 8hp. When you get a pipe you HAVE to get a clutch kit to match.HPD or RCR would be the best way to go. RCR has a whole kit for 325 that includes the pipe, clutch kit, jetting, and airbox mod. DonT use DG i have made the same mistake thinking using DG could save money but i ended up spending more.

Thanks for the reply. See the problem is that HPD lists pipes for the trailblazer, but they dont list anything for the Xplorer.or even the Trail Boss..which I beleive is based more on the xplorer.

The DG pipe seems to have made the bike a bit quicker..but he didnt add a jet kit of a clutch kit to it.

I think the 250 Xplorer has to have the LEAST amount of aftermarket available! LOL

The 250 explorer has the same exact motor as the Trailblazer.I have seen people use the same mods as the Trailblazer. The Polaris white spring is a replacement spring for the stock one. The spring goes on the primary clutch. Real easy to change. It will give you much quicker bottom end.The only downfall with this is you have to use the reverse button to back up because of the higher enguagement. The spring is only about 20 dollars. As far as the DG pipe, DG does not have clutch kits to match the power band of the pipe. So there is no way to match a kit. The powerband of the pipe is really flat. You might get a little quicker on the bottom end because it is not as restrictive as the stock pipe. Trust me DG is junk for polaris. Other brands will completely blow that pipe away. Call RCR and Rick Ritter can tell you what you can do to the Xplorer. The 2 stroke engine is real easy to mod.

The white spring wont raise engagment up that high where it effects the overide .If it does just unhook the overide.
