400 ?

Hey, first would be the idle quality or the lack of low end if they aren't too bad. If one is broken off or missing, they dont want to run at all. A piston port motor like the 250's and 300's shut off the intake ports before the transfers open. A 350 or 400 with reeds can hold both open at the same time and the reeds keep the primary compression until the transfers open up. So basically the primary compression gets lost depending how bad the reeds are, and naturally that wouldnt fill the top end either. That's the main reason carbon fibers work so well, they close alot fster. Hope that didnt get too long Bubba

Thats what I thought .Its not Idleing like it did and if it dies will idleing it is hard to start. But after it is warmed up it runs great. The reeds are about the only thing I havent changed on this one.I think I will get a set of Boysen dual stag reeds.Dont think I need a Rad or Vforce.I am not ported and only run a Aaen torquer pipe.Any input on this?

I run the boyensen dual stage on my wife's ported trail modded bike and they work great. They are only about 1/3 the cost as well. You might pull the carb bowl and check the pilot jet and blow out the air bleeds in the carb back just to make sure it's alright. Cant go wrong with a reed replacement at any rate.Bubba
