mmmmmmm that seems very high... the HO's should be much lower in price now that they make the 600 and the 700......the way it looks it seems like you payed the price of a SP 600.....Did you get the special edition one?? (camo)...? thats all i can think of....it should have been about 6200-6300 final price...but that is just what i think....yah overall i think you didnt get a very good deal...and is that with the plow incuded???man that thing retails for 6599$$ my magnum retailed for 6600 and got it for 5900 and didnt pay sales tax....so that is about 700$ off retail........

I had paid $6300 tax and all on my 02 SP 500. This did include the chrom big foot package and tires. This was also before, or around the time they released the SP 600. I think they should be throwing in some options for you for that price. As long as your happy with your purchase, that should be the only thing to worry about. Is that including any extended warranties?
Hope you enjoy your new bike.

I agree that you should have gotten some warranty or accessories for that price. I just bought my SP600 Twin for only $5399 and that included their shipping and set up of $295....so the bike really only cost me $5104....I live over 1500 miles away from where I bought it and shipping was $400 but I still saved about $1000 over the best dealer price in my area....so it was all worth it to me. It pays to look around on the forums and the internet before buying....ride on

Well 00king look on it as the glass is half full. Along with the new quad you now have a place to ride on your new farm. Just kidding. That's not too bad, a least you got a great machine. Worst comes to worse you might have paid a little more than you thought you should, but you did not get screwed big time. Enjoy your new ride. I recently purchase my first Polaris, a 2003 500 HO and am very satisfied. I
could have purchased a new 2002 700 twin on the show room floor for 300.00 more than I paid for my HO. I did not want to be another test pilot and I wanted something tried and true. Besides up here you can find used 700's at all the dealers but, 500's are what is in demand come trade in time. I really liked the 600 but the one I drove had the classic 700 leaking water pump housing. Maybe next time.

I'm guessing the $6800 figure included sales tax and the plow. Was the plow already mounted on the machine or did you have to carry it home in boxes? Maybe not a great bargain, but at least a fair deal.

Question - when you guys quote prices does that include sales tax? I am close to buying a 2003 500HO and the dealer is sticking to $6,200 beforethe 6% sales tax. This is a stock machine without any extra stuff.
Thanks,
Rich

RVer and others:
If you are looking to by a new Polaris, and you are thinking about a SP 500, please take a look at the SP 600 first. The ride is night and day different, the build of the bike is much better, and for the price differnce, your getting more for your money. I have had SP 500 H.O, and I can tell you that you will be 10x's happier w/the SP 600. Suggestion is for you to just look at the bikes closely, and see if you can test drive the bikes around the parking lot or something.
Just trying to help...thanks
