Interested in doing some winter riding this year. Have a place in Vilas county, but no ATV's aloud on trails at all. Does any one on this forum have a favorite winter riding destination in Wisconsin. Live in Racine, so any where I ride, I have to trailer.

Black River Falls kicks butt!!! I'd call ahead though and double check the schedule. Unless maybe someone else out there knows, but they do close down periodically for trail maint.

Clark County which is north of Black River Falls also has a great trail system. Here is a link to their rec page.

I am in Kenosha, most of the riding I did in the winter was on lakes and stuff once the ice was safe. I don't know how long the ice will be safe for this year, but last year it sucked hardcore. Check out www.wisconsinatv.com for a group ride somewhere in wisconsin. Also, if you're willing to travel up 5 hours or so to Vilas county, maybe you'd be willing to travel south to Badlands in Attica, Indiana...about 3 hour drive. They are open year-round...www.badlandsoffroad.com. Hope you find somewhere to ride...

A bud at work rides at Attica. Supposed to be a really cool place.

Speaking of places to ride I used the analogy that I couldn’t justify a snowmobile around here because we don’t get enough snow, without driving way up north to ride it. Now with saying that after winning my ATV the first 2 trips I took with it were to Oakridge Tn. to ride with some friends that live there. Its 1200 miles round trip to Oakridge Tn. and back here to SE Wis. Now I didn’t want to drive way up north to ride but, Id drop what I was doing to run down there to ride that was a blast. So far the first and only 89 miles were put on it were on the mountain down there, reading what I’ve read about the trails around here I’ve been too spoiled they don’t sound like a challenge anymore.
