Default Soprtsman 600!!!!

I looked at many new bikes and finally purchased the SP600. Went an excellent machine. Anyone looking at a new ATV should test drive this one before making your decision.

Now that I have this machine where can I find accessories, like a winch? Polaris wants $550 for the 2500# Warn. I see then selling for $240 on Ebay but then where do you get the mounting plate? Also looking for skid plates, bumpers, trailers, etc.

Thanks,
Dave

Congrats on the new quad!

I would personally recommend getting accessories from your Polaris dealer. Polaris has a really nice brush bumper for the Sp600/700. They also have some nice looking trailers too. As far as skids, what kind do you want, aluminum or is plastic okay? Polaris has full body plastic skids. If you are looking for some better CV boot protection I would go with something along the lines of Oxlite a-arm guards...they have some that are made of aluminum and some made of steel. Your dealer may be able to get you these or you can get them from Dennis Kirk.

Maxpower, GREAT choice bro.......NICE!

BTW, i just put-on a Warn 2500 2.5ci winch. i ordered it through my Polaris dealer. the 2.5ci comes with a really nice mini-remote that mounts to the handlebar. i can't remember the Polaris part number but the fit and finish is TOP-NOTCH!!
(also, the new 2.5ci is A LOT less money than the old 2500 Warn.)

enjoy your new 600!!.................what color?

Maxpower-
Congrats on the new machine, I've really been impressed with the 40 miles I've put on my 600 as well. Just a word of caution though, Warn does not make a mounting plate for the new 3.0Ci winch, if you start looking around and decide that you want a 3,000lb winch for your machine. The 2.5 will work fine, but the 3.0 has the cable spool and mounting bolts centered on the winch, whereas all the other models have both of those offset to one side of the winch. The Warn customer service people say that the 3.0 won't even fit in the bumper opening, but I have the winch here and it fits fine. I am going to try and modify the 2.5 mounting plate to fit the 3.0, I'll post my results when I get them.
To get a mounting plate for the winch that will allow you to mount it within the bumper opening, you have to order Polaris part #2874099. (look at "Warn mount for 600 or 700 bumper opening??" thread from last week)

The mounting plate that Warn sells for the SP600 and 700 (63799 if I remember correctly) will mount the winch below the bumper if front of the radiator. Warn manufactures both plates, but only Polaris can sell the Polaris designed plate.

Good luck and happy trails!

'old' Warn 2500- list $589.99
new Warn 2.5ci- list $449.99 part#2874502 (for Sportsman600/700)

YooperMike, my Polaris dealer charged me $400.

Ramsey makes a strong winch worth concidering also. Ramsey's wireless remote is a nice touch. the red key chain remote is small and unique. haven't heard a single complaint about it either.

gotta-go riding now!

Thanks, for all the help. I purchased the Polaris Brush Guard, and 60" Blade. I'm not sure if it would be cheaper to purchase a winch off Ebay and buy the mounting plate from Polaris or buy the kit from Polaris for $550. It would be a lot less hassle to just buy the kit, but sometime I just like to do things the hard way!

that's right off the polaris website online store. dealers can't charge over list price. in fact, dealers have to sell it for LESS or everyone will buy their stuff online.

anyways, i wish you luck.
