Polaris Lifetime Belt Warrenty- Mabey

You are all mistaken about the belt advertisement. Poalris DOES say that they have the worlds best PVT transmission with a LIFETIME LIMITED BELT WARRANTY!!!! Go to Polaris industries and read it for your self. Problem solved. It is limited...... Abuse is abuse. A falatspot is abuse. Broken or freyed belt is manufacture default. For the past few years Polaris has always advertised their LIFETIME LIMITED BELTS.

My dealer told me this:
They will replace one belt no questions asked. While there, they will check out the pulleys. He said about 3/4 of belt problems are due to misalignment, or pulley wear. They just look things over good, clean everything up, and replace the belt.
They will replace a second belt no problem, but then they really look at everything very closely, to see if it is traceable to any kind of mechanical problem.
They usually will replace the belt a third time, but after that, it is only due to defect. He said it also depends upon the machine. If you have only 50 miles and are on your 3rd, belt, they will be a lot more picky than if you have 12,000 miles, and yes, he also said that they will replace the belt due to wear, if it wears down below specs.
I think one of the main reasons they have the warranty is to get it to a mechanic when the belt goes bad, so he can check alignment & condition of the pulleys. No sense putting a new belt on a mis-aligned shive.

once i wasn't able to do wheelies anymore and my quand wasn't fast as it was... so i pulled out the strap, i mesured it and called the dealer... mine was 1/16 of an inch too narrow... and he told me it's enough to changed a lot on performance... so i told him that i will go get a new one, it's on warenty anyways.... then he told me NO it's not !!! yours is normaly weared... the warenty does not cover normal wear.
wow... they call it life times warenty..... it will happen to 1 strap on 20 000 to desintegrate while driving... so that warenty is totaly useless....
that's pretty much the thing i hate the most about polaris.... well.... the only thing i hate !!!

That's the reason your secondary clutch is adjustable. Pull out as many shims as needed to get the deflection right again. Make sure to leave at least one shim in place. I have to run my belts for awhile then re-shim the clutch. That should be normal maintenence. Bubba

I think some people are missing the point. Polaris does NOT cover regular wear or abuse. They have NEVER advertised that they have a lifetime warranty on the belts. They DO advertise a LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY. No belt will last forever. Polaris does not make the belts. Another company does. So the warranty comes from the origional manufacturer. Not Polaris. It is the manufacturer that makes the LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY. They do not cover belts on atv's that have anything other than stock equipment. No bigger tires, clutch kits, pipes, any mods of that sort. Most of the time they can tell if the belt had a Problem caused by abuse or manufacture defect. And if one belt had a problem because of a manufacture defect they would get a whole slew of belts with the same problem because they come off of the same assembly line. If they advertised LIFETIME BELT WARRANTY
(wich they dont) then i would be kinda pi$$ed if i couldnt get the belt replaced. But they dont advertise that!!!!! So unless the facts are straight and you really think the belt should be replaced do to MANUFACTURE defect then go for it. As for everyone else, go spend the $30 on a new belt and quit complaining. YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY!!!!

The belts are 39.95 + tax and YOUR the one that's missing the point. I have been and mabey still am one of the most loyal polaris owners out there, but their comes a point where I tire of cutting off my nose to spite my face. It also seems that on certain issues or concerns, their is a very small percentage of owners (of any brand) that just can't seem to be able to handle the truth. I would just about bet that if I posted a thread stateing.[ I bought a brand new polaris and it blew up under my A$$ as I was driving it off the showroom floor], their would be some that would reply that I must have abused it and I was bashing polaris because I told someone about it. To those I say: Your skin is way too thin.
I thought I would respond to this and your previous post since no one else has, even though it was probably a big mistake and I can't seem to understand why I keep buying into this foolishness. I will try to be helpfull and constructive in all my future posts, as I feel that is what these forums were meant to be about.

verypicky, that number is for the non-ebs clutching. As far as I know you can only get the 700 belt from the dealer. Tell your buddy to definitely buy a good replacement belt. The kevlar will shorten the primary clutch life just a bit, but will hold alot better and wont give under hard conditions as much. Those Craftsman tools are hard to beat.
