Default Hey Bubba297 - a question?

I saw that you were pushing some big hp's on your 400 - How did you stop the engine torque in the frame. I have a 95 xplorer 400 that is pushing between 60~70 hp and to stop the the belt from slipping due to engine torque i had to do: 1. put HPD hard motor mounts on the front and top mount points, 2. Put an aluminum bolt with a straight through bolt on the rear bottom mount. This was the only way i could get the engine from moving. I don't like having a solid mount in the rear but what suggestion do you have or how have you solved this type of problem. Also, if you have a suggestion - i'm getting a 38mm TMX flatside carb this week and i was wondering what jets ( pilot and main) that i should start at - i like to run my plugs just a little bit wet. The bike is as follows: AAEN mid range pipe and silencer, 0.10" off the head, .040"over wiseco ( will be putting a .060" over in March), Dual stage reeds, reed spacer, New carb, UNI air filter, Flywheel weight is 3 lbs 9oz, Heel clicker 400 scrambler kit, HPD violet secondary spring set 1:1, NAPA kevlar belt, 50:1 Klotz mixture, #7 plug, very slight porting, no starter or injector pump. Thanks for the input.

I'm not Bubba, but with my motor mounts I had my dad machine me some solid aluminum mounts that bolts threaded into rather than thread coming out of the mount. Makes it easier to install when you just slide the mount in. I put one on the lower frame and one on the back of the cylinder. I noticed quicker response. I can't answer the carb question

The 99 sport model has a stop already built in to the left rear, and i installed one of Dennis Packard's torque strap on the right front. It doesnt twist at all. I also run the hard mounts. Someone else will have to help on the jetting, I have always run the Keihin 39pwk.

Well the one solid mount worked great, the heelclicker does well but i am still not sure about the top end. Everything was going great and then the chain broke - because - the swing arms right side broke in half. go figure. what a day.
