Default Gas milage SP 700

I have been trying to improve my gas milage on my SP 700 but without any succes. I spoke to one of the dealers in the States (I am from Israel) and he told me that Polaris programed the CDI to retard the fireing in order to reduce the power of the SP 700 (too dangerous ATV), and from my understanding this is one of the cause to the poor gase milage.
I would br happy if anyone know how to improve the gas milage.

Price of gas is not the issue. We are taking long trips some times 3 days in the desert and I can't go more than 60 miles on one tank. I built S.S tank on my front rack which contain about 5 gallons, I also connected it stright to the fuil system, and now when I am full I can drive about 130 miles, so the only thing I have to do is open the my tank's valve. If you want I can email to you picture. By the way the price of gassolin in Israel is $4.1/gallon.

I am getting almost 20 miles to the gallon with mine. I checked it on several trips now. I have two friends that are getting the same.

Thanks for the reply
I'm getting 14mil/gal and we ride at sea level using 96 Oktan leaded gas. You are getting 50% mor gas millage than us. Did you do anything in the carburatur? I tried to modify the main jet but with no succes.

I didn't do anything to my atv. We just run regular unleaded gas and we ran the machines pretty hard. Most of the day, it was either handlefulll of throttle or a handfull of brake.

My 02 700 gets aprox 65 miles per tank. My buddy’s 03 700 is does much better in fuel economy and power. Every time we fuel up he burns $0.50 to $1.00 less than me…weird. Our driving habits are similar so I’m not sure what’s going on. However, I did install an AEAN clutch kit so am thinking that this is the cause of the fuel consumption difference. I’m seriously thinking about removing the clutch kit and restoring my 02 700 to stock again.
