scrambler cooling

Default scrambler cooling

For some reason my coolant is going down when I bought it it was in the middle of the overflow bottle now its way below minimum and whenever i let it set overnight and come back it way down and i have to ride it before it goes up should it be loosing that much coolant its only been 3months

Not that familiar with the 500 engine, maybe by bumping the post someone out there will catch it. Do you have a service manual? If not, get one. Possibly retorque the engine cylinder. Maybe also check at your dealer with the techs, and see if they have some ideas.

You are not losing any coolant, this is a sealed system similar to all new cars.

When the coolant in the system is heated, it expands, so the excess of the larger volume flows into the bottle. As the system cools, the coolant contracts (less volume) and goes back into the engine, making it lower in the overflow bottle. As long as the fluid does not get any lower thatn the min mark on the bottle your OK.

What you see is perfectly normal, next time you start your car in the AM, check the bottle, and check it again when you park it.
