SP700 4WD Question
Other SP700 owners, when in 2WD and pealing out, or on ice, do your front wheels still provide some pull? I was turning around on a gravel road about two weeks ago, in 2WD, and decided give 'er the nuts and whip the a$$-end around when the fronts bit and damn near threw me off my bike. It only happens when I really jump on it. It did it again when I was riding on a frozen creek near my house the other day too. I took it in and it did the same thing at the shop. With me present my dealer called Polaris about this and they said it was normal and that it had to do with the 700's new 4WD system. Has anyone else had this problem?

SP700 4WD Question
I've never had it happen to me, but I know someone who had it happen to him... he was doing donuts on ice. I was too, but I chose to keep it in 4WD so I didn't have to worry about it locking in on accident. Still did donuts nicely.
I read about this somewhere else (either another thread here or on another board), and someone said they called up Polaris, and were told that the 700 creates so much torque it can throw the ATV into 4WD on its own if it's spinning fast enough. I don't know enough about it to be able to confirm that this is possible, but if Polaris says it is and this many people are having it happen, I believe it. Be careful, though... I've read (though never seen first-hand) that people have actually broken their front axles doing this. Not sure if Polaris covers that under warranty or not. SP700 4WD Question
i have about 450 miles on sp700 and this has happened to me when it was cold . when the front diff oil is cold it tends to hang up in 4 wheel drive. i have found that by running the switch in awd mode most of the time ,that when you do really want 2wd it works fine because the oil is hot and thinner allowing the diff clutch to work properly this has worked every time for me and i am riding in -9deg f temperatures. heat up that front diff and you will find that it works much better.
