I find it funny that people consider this a sport quad, but the Scrambler 2x4 is not?? I would much rather have a Scrambler with lots of suspension travel, and add a pipe to have the same amount of power, on a lighter machine.

As a Scrambler rider I think I can safely say that it does not even compare to the Kawasaki. The Kawi's frame is described as "Double cradle, racing type, high-tensile tubular steel", it has dual A-arms and coil-over shocks and comes stock with Holeshot tires. The Scrambler 2x4 is nothing but a SC4x4 with the FWD components removed.
As for HP, put a pipe on a SC400 and try to keep up with a 700 twin.

Still, you're claiming it's a new machine with comparable equipment that has already been on the market for 10 years. It's pretty hard to beat a Scrambler for recreational trail riding. I remember back when I first took mine out, a bud couldn't believe the suspension travel.....nice and cush when it comes to soaking up natures speed bumps.

Drive them both and you can see they are two totally different machines even though they look the same. The 50-60 weight difference makes a huge difference, especially considering most of that weight comes off the front end. There is quite a bit more power loss having to turn an extra drive shaft and two more wheels. Its a real pain changing gears and tires sizes on the 4x4. I have had plenty of seat time on the 4x4 and the 2x4 and I can tell you the two machines are very different. Also the 400 and 500 are like riding two totally different machines also, but thats another story.

I really hope the 700 has enough torque to overcome its short comings. I think just about any Scrambler owner is going to think its a pretty sweat ride. I just stated the things that bother me. Did you read the atvconnection review on this thing? They feel it can be an auto, heavy, and shaft drive and still be a sport atv...........funny how stories change.

Heres a thought.....

4799.00 list price for Scram 400 2x4 (most dealers sell them closer to 4000.)
1550.00 Race mod from HPD
6349.00 = 75HP 481lb. Scrambler 2x4 (with the ability to change gear ratios easily)
OR
6499.00 list price for 47HP 506lb. Kawi 700

Mod you have got to be the most brand loyal guy I have read on these forums. You crack me up, You have never so much as started it never mind about riding it and your hammering it. Sorry it does not say Polaris on the side. Your opinion on the 700 means squat because to you if it isn't a Polaris it isn't worth owning. Your Polaris colors come through in every one of your Posts. You post nothing but negatives about the other brands all the while touting the great Polaris. I personally like Polaris , and Honda, and Yamaha and Suzuki and every other manufacture who make a quality ATV. I like a particular quad because of how it rides, how it performs and how it looks not what label is on the side of it.

Everyone needs to Stop Worrying about the weight of the KFX700. All the Prarrie 650 owners already know that what I am about to say is true.

****TORQUE is what gets you moving, NOT Horsepower.****

This machine will have Torque!!!! That combined with the CVT putting you in the meat of its Torque curve and keeping you there, will produce enough seat of the pants excitement to silence the skeptics.

We need to give this Quad the chance to Succeed or Fail on its own merrit. Talk is Cheap, and untill some of us get a chance to throw a leg over it and see what its capable of, that's all it is, TALK.

If it doesn't hold up to all the Hype, I'll be the first one on here telling you all about it.

O.K. Raptor, time to learn how to use the scrolling feature of your mouse. Just wander up a bit, and you'll see how I'm stating "my faves". This is the Polaris forum......the Polaris brand is my fave, just like the Yamaha brand probably is your's. America the beautiful!!! Once again.....Ride what you want, we all have our faves, sorry to offend anyone with my brand loyalty, (warm fuzzies for everyone), and last but not least, protect your right to ride. I own what I would say to be one of the most heavily modified 400's on this entire forum. Even with all the money I've put into it, its still just a heavy, mildly sporty machine that is prone to breaking down when ridden hard. I'd guess that even with all the money I've put into it, it would only be slightly quicker than what the Kawi will be bone stock. I've taken it about as far as it can go. Now think about what the 700 will be able to do with a good aftermarket dual exhaust and performance clutching plus its way, way sportier than a Scrambler will ever be, regardless of how much money you save.
