Predator questions
#1
Hi guys,
What are the API ratings and weight of the PS4 Polaris oil?
I've studied this lower chain roller, is it really necessary? I would think as long as you keep the chain properly tensioned you could run without it. The chain will loosen a bit with the suspension fully extended but I don't see it being loose enough to cause it to derail.
I just picked the Pred up Sat. haven't rode it yet. Been thoroughly going over it, some of the bolt torques were less than spec but the dealer prep was very good compared to past quads I've purchased from other dealers. Check your ball joints, I have a left upper that is loose. The stud is tight in the spindle but you can rock the top of the tire and see the A-arm move up and down approx 3/16", all the other joints are tight. I checked the welds over and they look ok at this point.
Is anyone considering a carb change to the 41FCR? I would think there should be a rather large gain in responsiveness and power over the stock CV carb. Also a boost in compression ratio to 12:1 or so would seem to really turn this a machine into a true Predator. I realize you may think I'm nuts with all the ideas when I haven't even ridden the thing yet but I have faster machines and I know there is potential for improvements. I bought the quad because I think Polaris did a good job on the chassis and suspension, for the money it looks like a good package.
Share your thoughts and please keep it civil, Thanks!!!!
