I am looking for feedback regarding air box mods- is it better going with the carb bolt on K & N or just the K & N flat filter and do they make a prefilter to use in the orig. airbox. I was planning on cutting holes in the airbox something like Rath racing did. Plus I was told the Pure Polaris pipe by White Bro.'s was there bottem of the line pipe. Is there a pbetter one out there yet?

The Pure Polaris White Bros unit is top notch. Read most of the recent 4-stroke pipe dyno comparisons, White Bros normally wins. Great quality and fit.

The air box mod is great. You can still ride in sloppy conditions without having to worry about your open air filter. Believe it or not, you DO get a good deal of power from the air box mod. The pipe is awesome too....great power improvement over the stock one. DENNY Racing Domain

Daransport, can you explain the airbox mod to me. Dirtwheels does not make sense. Rath racing said they run it without the iar box lid? And with an outerwear. DO you run just the slip on ore complete exhaust system. Thanks for feedback. I was just told the Pure Polaris is the E series pipe which is there lower line of pipes?

I've heard that the best thing to do is use the K&N clamp on kit. Totally eliminates the air box, but not for people who do a lot of dirty/wet riding, from what I understand.
I've heard also that this white pipe/pure Polaris slip on is the lower end of White's line.

Graffer....the air box mod is a two by three inch hole in the rear of the air box. The hole is covered by a small piece of outerwear. The hole allows more air to enter without the sacrifice of protection. I used to run a clamp-on style K&N on my MX 400 Sport...the only thing bad was I really had to watch where I went....I couldn't go in sloppy mud or water without running my aluminum air box. If the Pure Polaris pipe is the bottom of the line, I hope they end up making a higher grade pipe. The difference this pipe made, was greater than the difference between my stock pipe and the HPD race pipe on my 400!!DENNY Racing Domain

Gary @ superbike shop will have a airbox kit complete with new jets and needle next week. I know he told me not to modify the airbox, they was not much power increase there. They must have found a combination that is working. It will be a billet cover for the rear of the box. Also take two disc out of the white bros pipe, he said the head pipe was waaaay to big and the engine has to have some back pressure.
