I was wondering if anyone was running the trailtech speedometer/computer on there Scramblers and how it holds up to the weather /mudd/rain/snow ? and how you like it ? Is it worth the money? It looks like a quality unit.
Thanks in advance

Great unit. Easy to install and calibrate. Never had any problem with it. However it did take a little trial and error to get the magnet and sensor lined up. Ive put that thing through hell and it hasnt let me down. It costs half of what a polaris speedo costs with 10 times the features. I highly recommend it. Got mine through Rocky Mountain for around $70

I have witnessed on two separate ocassions on different machines that the trailtech does not work right in the snow. Yesterday mine showed that I was going 138mph and I had 70miles, half an hour into the ride. I don't know if its something to do with the computer or the magnetic sensor. Any other time they work flawlessly.

I have a trailtech speedo and I too have false readings every once in a while, but not enough to not justify having it. It is a great product and I recommend It to anyone. A few weeks ago we had a foot of snow here and It read correctly so I think It Is just something that happens from time to time. I also got mine from Rocky Mountain ATV for $70.

I cant attest to the snow because I havent ridden in it due to the lack of it here, but I have had it in rain, mud, dirt, and cold temp, and it has performed without a hitch

I wasn't trying to bash Trailtech I was just trying to let Alpine2 that there is a slight problem in the snow. I wouldn't let it stop me from buying one. I think it might be that snow packs in the wheel causing the sensor to get an incorrect reading. I reset the trip and it worked ok after that.

Considering what I've put mine through, it's never missed a beat. Before breaking out the pressure washer, I normally, gently, cover the top display with duct tape. Just for preventative measures.
