Predator performance or how to screw it up!

modquad, what's wrong with a little snow? lol I think everything blew over me to you! We might have gotten 2 inches overhere in Wisconsin! I said heck with it and studded my tires! lol But then it rained and the river was just covered with slush, so hopefully by today it's frozen again.
I was told by my dealer not to change the jetting with it being this cold? I don't know if he knows what he is talking about, but I have a WB Slip-on and a K&N filter, just installed yesterday. I haven't moved the needle or made any airbox mods. I want to stay away from the air box mods, lots of wet conditions that I ride in around here. Any sugestions? I haven't really ridden it yet other than around the yard, and it seems to be a lot more snappy. I have the 8 discs in, no spark arrestor (very loud but can't run it on the state trails like this so I plan to put it in) and no silent core. Thanks! (temp right now is 20, doesn't the jetting need to be changed for warmer conditions if that every happens around here?)

Truckracer, I am running a K&N filter in the air box, my needle clip is in the second position from the top. one notch leaner than factory. also when you change the needle clip make sure you get the washers back in the correct order. The service manual is incorrect. both metal washers do not go below the clip, just the nylon washer and thin metal, the thick metal goes above the clip under the spring.

There should be a thin washer under the nylon washer, might check down in the slide where the needle goes to see if it is stuck to the bottom. Without the washer you going to be a little lean.

truckracer,
I'm surprised to hear that you can only run a 150. I'm running a 160 with a K&N and 12 1" UNI airbox vents minus the their blue foam element. I'm still using the foam prefilter that came stock. I never touched the silencer rings and the needle was already in the lowest position (3rd ring). It runs great!, no pops unless I hit the rev limiter. I started with a 155 main, but I felt it was a little lean. Now it pulls in the mid almost as hard as it pulls in the high rpms. Maybe try opening up the airbox...

Thumper - I put a 155 in mine right off the bat. It seemed to run good (surprised a Banshee with it!) but the air temp was around 50 degrees. As the weather warmed up last Sunday it ran worse and worse, only popping up at the very top of the RPM range just before the limiter kicked in. 2nd and third gear power wheelies would happen, just not "snappy" for lack of a better term. Put the 150 in as the temp hit 70 degrees and it was like night & day different! No popping, and it was brutal 2nd through 4 gear with the wheels in the air.
Only airbox mod I have is the removal of the snorkel.
And 13 front, 38 rear sprockets.
Oh - there is 5 clip positions on that needle, you have to slide the nylon ring down to see them all.
