Yeah I think I'm gonna do it as long as the dealer takes the trade. I've read alot of posts about how the fuel valve is faulty, the dealer fixes them at no charge, they leak again, and so on. Some guy who posts here has had so much trouble with his that he took it apart so many times he pulled the threads out of the tank and had to get a new one of those too. Polaris doesnt do themselves justice by comparing the boss to the recon. You can tell they only looked for a match with the price, not the machines themselves. A closer competetor would be the 2wd rancher, and that costs about two grand more.

ftwflh, whats your beef against honda streetbikes? Personally I think my shadow 800 is a better bike than my harley xlh. The shadow is more relieable, more comfortable, and, more relieable. It even looks better than the harley if you get down to it. I ride my harley because it's a harley, plain and simple. But I do see your point about possibly getting burned. The book value on my shadow is $2000 but this is the second one I have bought for $3000 and have sold one for the same price. You just have to sell them to someone who wants it for what it is, not what it's worth. Then again, I grew up on hondas, so don't mind me.

I can't wait to take this thing out in the snow!

Dude, you wont regret buying the Trailboss. I have one and I really enjoy it. When I first bought it everyone said I would get bored with it and trade it in soon after, but it's been a year and , yeah, I have done some mods to it, but I still enjoy it just as much as the day I bought it. No, it's not a speed Demon, but it has plenty of power and you'll be able to ride the trails with any quad, I guarantee that. And about the wheelie thing, put a stiffer primary clutch spring in it, crack the throttle and pull up. That's it! I can wheelie mine no problem (and keep it up) I don't have to stand on the rack or anything like that , just scoot back on the seat a little bit and go.

mossman, just out of curiosity, how did it wheelie before you changed the spring and did the other mods? It seems like the first thing you do to a polaris is put that white spring in there. Can I do this with common automotive tools, and about how long does it take? I might not change the spring right away, at least not until the warrenty runs out. But I am a firm believer in properly tuning your carb to match th motors flow characteristics. How much of a gain did you experience by doing yours- or did you do all of the intake/exhaust work at once? I will probably keep the stock exhaust on it. The K&N you put on there- did you remove the airbox, or is it a direct replacement? If these bikes have a snorkel going to the airbox I'd want to keep the box sealed so it doesn't drown when I take it swimming with me. Once I get this thing I'm going to be on a tight budget so it's going to remain stock for at least a while. Thanks

MY beef goes back to 1985 when I bought a ne V65 and it was a piece of crap a fast piece but it was in the shop all the time for wobles and cams.Gave $4500 for it new and when I went to get rid of it 18months later the dealer told me it was worth only $1500.I trded it for a 1975 XLH and a grand boot.So after that I personally wont have another.By the way I ride a 1972 FLH that has been the best bike I could ask for over the past16 yrs. Back to the Trailboss they are great machines but a little on the under powered side but will get the job done and with a couple of easy mods will keep up on the trails.

You won't get a Trailboss to wheelie without some mods. Well, not a true wheelie. You can if you cheat, like pull up on a small hill or hump, or stand on the rack. The higher engagement of the white spring makes all the difference. First you scoot back alittle on the seat to shift some weight to the back end of the quad. Crack the throttle, and a split second later, pull up.You have to learn how to time the pull with the clutch engagement to get a really good wheelie. Yes, you can put the spring in yourself. It takes about 30 min. it doesn't take any special tools.If you can change a piston, well , this would be more like an oil change. I put the spring in first, then I put on the muffler and K&N, until I realized she was alittle lean, then I jetted it. THAT's when I noticed the biggest difference. And about your tight budget, well, I have 4 kids, my wife stays home with the kids,(day care would cost more than she would make if working) I own my house, and have all the other bills to go with it, and I only make 35-40k a year. Hows that for a tight budget? Anyway, all those mods were just barely over 200 bucks. You can afford it. Megaphone muffler..$140, K&N...$35,...white cluch spring...$20, main jet...(bought next three sizes up from stock)...$9... Blowing past a Jap quad on the trail...PRICELESS!

moss man where did you get all the mods for your trailboss. I have a 2000 and I don't won't to trade it or anything because it's paid for. I just want to hop it up a little.

I got the K&N and the POLARIS white spring at my Polaris dealer. The muffler, and jets came from Aaen Performance

HPD,RCR and Hotseat all have speed kits for the 325 tb.RCR would be the best bet and Hotseat claims that thier speed kit for the 325 will keep up with a 500. Not sure about that but these kits make a world of difference.

I just went to the aaen website and unless I was looking in the wrong place I didn't see anything for the 325 trailboss.I have one and would love to hop it up. I have the white spring and other then that not much else so pleaseee help with more info thanks
