Default Polaris Performance Clutching

Hey, Has anybody insatlled a performance clutch on a Sportsman 500 HO. I bought a 2003, 500 HO and am thinking about putting one in. I spoke to my dealer and he told me the only draw back is that you void the lifetime replacement on your belt. Any info would be appreciated

Their was a post a while back concerning the so called LIFETIME WARRANTY on the belt. I Think your going to find that it's not really a lifetime warranty anyway. My dealer installed the AAEN clutch kit on my SP700 and he never mentioned anything about voiding the warranty on the belt. I wouldn't let the belt issue stand in my way. Do a search and and you'll probably find the previous post concerning the belts.

A clutch kit will make the belt last longer anyways. Like Picky said, that "warranty" is not worth much, but if you use the high/low like you should and dont try to pull a freight train with it, it should last quite a long time.Bubba

I just came back from my dealer a short time ago, and I mentioned your post to the mechanic about your dealer saying that a clutch kit would void the belt warranty. He echoed Bubba297's responce almost to the word. He also says that a clutch kit will make your belt last longer.

Hey Bubba and Picky,
Thanks for the info it is very much appreciated. I have looked at Hot Seat and HPD. I will probably go with Hotseat because that is what my dealer has the most experience with.
Thanks Again

Of all the clutch kits on the market, I would recommend the HeelClicker. I installed on eon my SP700 and can do full wheelies in high range with my stock spring, and the kit did not take away from top end. It is worth looking into.
