HAS ANYONE TRIED TO MAKE THE PREDATOR INTO A 4X4. I WANT TO CHANGE ONE INTO A 4X4 AND LOOSE THE SHIFTER AND GO WITH POLARIS AUTO. I PUT A LOW RANGE TRANY INTO MY 500 SCRAMBLER AND IT WORKS GREAT.
I THINK I MAY BE ABLE TO BOLT UP A 400 TRANY TO THE ENGINE AND RUN SHAFT TO THE FRONT. MAKE UP SPLINED FRONT AXELS WITH A DOUBLE UNIVERSAL OR CV'S FOR THE ADDITIONAL FRONT END TRAVEL AND "WALLA THE ULTIMATE ROCK CLIMBER" THEN SEE ABOUT INDEPENTENT REAR END. PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH YOUR IDEAS.

The problem is, too many loose bolts...in your head...
The Predator is a sport quad, why would you want to turn an apple into an orange?
Throwing a hi/lo into your scrambler is one thing, losing the shifter? you mean cut away the gearbox and cases so you can make a Polaris auto out of it? That's just nuts.
You have a Scrambler, but you want a Predator,,,,You can't make a Predator into a Scrambler, well maybe you can, but why?

Many of us would like a full 4x4 sport quad, a desert racer, full independent suspension, that sort of thing. Why don't you think about more bore/stroke to your scrambler and add some horsepower to the package you already have and seem to like?

 

I think the easiest way would be to just put the Pred plastic on the scrambler! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
