well today about 3:30pm the locals were burning the ditch on the other side of our road and well it is extremly dry here and 20mph winds today. and the fire soon got way out of control and is still smoldering at 7:30pm. any way when the truck pulled up the fire was out in the field, and there was no way to get the big trucks out there. so then here comes the Waterloo Fire Dept. Polaris Ranger, equipped with a 100 gallon water tank and warn winch, sweet. so they drive right down into the ditch and into the field spraying water. it was a pretty cool machine. worked great as far as i could tell. that machine helped alot! even though the fire burned more than 15 arces of land. any body else know of any other machines used like that.
