Predator for MX????
#1
Hi guys, I recently traded my 400ex for a KTM125SX dirt bike beacause the 400ex was too slow. Well the 125 is a little fast, a least on two wheels anyway (I've been riding quads since I was 9, I'm 26 now and I'm a beginner on dirtbikes). I want to get into mx racing and maybe tt and the Predator looks pretty good for that. I'm not really into trail riding so the extra width won't be a problem. I saw the Dirtwheels shootout where it ranked #1 on the mx track, but ATV Action said it was too front heavy in the whoops. My questions are, does it feel heavy (415lbs.), does it handle good (whoops, jumping, turns), and how will it hold up? I also heard the shifting was'nt great, what do you guys think?
Thanks in advance for any you can give.

The predator is a very good quad to start with for MX. Look at all the heavy duty features it has...axle,steel braided brake lines, and fully adj. shocks. I would upgrade to the walker evans shocks if you plan on getting into racing or buy the front rez's for the foxs and call Rath racing to have your fox springs changed and the shocks revalved. As for the way it handles once you get the hang of it theres no better quad out there. It rails around corners and has enough power to clear any jump you feel man enough to try. The front end stays down when you want it to( like coming out of corners)yet you can get it up if you need to. I have no problem riding wheelies on mine. You will need to change the gearing (down a tooth on front sprocket) get a pipe, jet it and put a K&N on it and hold on cause this quad flat out rips!!! Mine is set up for MX and this has been the cheapest, yet most race ready quad I've own'd. AS for the Dirt bike I ride a Honda Cr250 and have a blast on it. It takes some time to get any good on them. Mine still scares the crap out of me at times and I've been riding quads and dirtbikes for 12+ years. Hope this helps. G'day John, I just came back from the mx track , & this pred is awsome. Shifting is easy. I only mixed with 2 wheelers & none of them could keep up, & I could easily catch them. Thanks from down under Geoff.
