Default 425 Transfer Case

I have a 1996 425 Magnum. This past summer the bearings in my front Transfer Case went bad. I think they were bad for awhile. Has anyone else had the same problem because they just went bad again after less than 20 hours of service?

The housing unit between the drive chain and the front drive chain. The bearings went bad last summer, so I replaced them. Plowing snow this weekend the 4wd quit working so I tore it apart and the bearings were shot again and the housing cracked this time. Just wwanted to know if it was a common problem or not.

I would say it is a fairly uncommon problem........but I haven't owned one. Are you keeping it greased? Anyway, I may have one of those housings I could sell cheap if you're interested. Go to partsland.com and look up your bike. Give me the part# and I will tell you if I have a used one or not.

I don't have one.........I have some parts from a older 350, but the part numbers are not the same. It was worth a try though. You should check your local dealer to see if he has a junk magnum laying around........just an idea.
