HPD Predator Gear update.
#1
Just back from the Elfin' Magic Shop of Horsepower. There are some new handlebar clamps ready. A really nifty set of greaseable steering links are on the way. Also some heavier duty greaseable steering arms are in the finishing mode. Like Rath's, they also have a swaybar available. Got to see the prototype chromolly steering stem...that's getting finished up now too. Can't say enough about the steering links....I'm kinda partial to my stock aluminum ones (now that Mother's aluminum polish was used), but the HPD units are seriously heavy-duty pieces. There are some other goodies that I was allowed to see, but, well, you're gonna have to wait.
Also took a peak, at the HPD show quad fresh from the Indy dealer show. All yellow frame/ swingarm with metallic blue Polaris plastic, Sweet!!!!! I'll try to get a pic when I go back.
HPD also has a very sanitary 400 race mod reinforcing plate. As some have found out, there is a weak spot, if you can call it that, after all, we are pushing 3 times the designed HP out of these things. Anyway, you can contact them, for the piece, and get it welded on the next time your motor is out. Once in place, it actually has a spring loaded effect. Clean, simple, and effective.
One footnote, Darrell, has a Predator head on his desk. He said it's "the best" design he has ever seen....another hat's off to the Predator design team. Trust me, that stock head.....ain't gonna be stock for long. Those gears are turning sooooo fast in his head, he could hardly contain the enthusiasm. Give HPD the time, and your Predator will have an "AFTERBURNER" button on the bars....time to go vertical!!!
