Default scrambler carb on trailblazer

there is a big dead spot off the throttle
Do you mean off idle? If so, good luck getting rid of it. I'm pretty sure I know what its about and nothing you can do about it without some big $$$$. If I'm right, I'll bet talonhawk doesn't have one hardly at all. I can say I've made mine all but disappear but I have to run my idle to 1/4 throttle on the verge of dangerously lean. If anyone were to ride mine without knowing how to ride it, they would blow it up in less than 15 minutes. Me, I have ridden this way for just over a year and have no intentions of tearing it down anytime soon. It runs good, just got to know how to ride it.

I did a search and found what Mike told you. I sure miss Mike. Don't see him around hardly anymore. We don't care if you ride red.

The flatslide carb is the way to go. I tried the 38 TMX Mikuni on my 99 TB
first. ( recommended by Hotseat Performance back then ) I never did get
that carb dialed in right. It had a flat spot off idle so after screwing around
with it for over a year I changed to the 35 PWK keihin ( thanks to Darrell at HPD )
Its a wonderful carb. I did have a very small hesitation of idle but I've fixed that
by changing the pilot jetting. BINGO!!!
Just received my lightened flywheel ( 1.8 lbs removed ) from HPD and I'm pretty
sure that I will get a Comet primary clutch this Spring. Thanks to Modquad for
that NEW information!

I have run a 34m carb on my 95 TB from a 98 Scarmbler 400 an all I did was to change the jet in it. I am still running the carb now on it an have no dead spot off the bottom end. I know had to go down alot on the jet size from what was in it but now with the Reedcage convertion had to go back up.
