02 Scrambler Mods

What are some mods I can do?
How much differences does a K&N filter make? Is a pipe worth the cost? How much does this really change the overall H.P. Who as aftermarket items (skid plates, hand guards etc,,,) at a fair price?

I bought my '99 Scrambler 500 4x4 with a K&N filter on it. I like how it is reusable but it really doesn't do anything for power. I raced my friend on his '00 Scrambler (stock) and they are exactly dead even. I keep my pipe stock because sometimes I burry off in a deep water hole and the stock pipe assures me that no water will enter the engine if it chokes out. The pipe is real good for that!
I will probably buy some aftermarket tires that will help put the power to the ground. I'll go with stock sizes to keep my power and wheel spin. I'm looking at Gators right now.

Check through Rocky Mt. ATV for some after market accessories. I would look into getting a clutch kit before a pipe. It will make the most difference. I havent got my scrammy back together yet so I cant tell you what differnce the pipe and clutch kit made. But the pipe does sound MEAN I cant wait to take it out and open her up. You know, if you have the right skills and tools, you can make your own skid plates. I just made my own aluminum a-arm skids. If I can make it and save some money then I am all for it
