With enough green, you can pimp out a John Deere tractor, but it still will be slow.
If you plan on modding, go Raptor or Z400. Lots of goodies available right now. Give the Predator a few years and it will have lots of goodies available too.
Or you could wait and see what Honda will kick out the doors.
03 black and red Raptor.

Unless you have an orcherd of money trees, none of them will see 70 HP. Some of the Raptor guys have $8000 + into there quads just trying to get 70HP
My God, you can buy a 750HP Big Block Chevy for less.
4 Strokes are money pits if you're only looking for horse power.
I had a heavily Modded 2000 Scrambler 400 2X4 before the Z, and I'd never go back. The Z is much faster then a stock Scrambler, and for about $1000 in motor hopups its faster then any stock quad you can buy. The handling is as good as it gets, a modern liquad cooled motor, silky smooth tranny, reverse, hard to beat a Z for an all around do-all fun quad.
The Predator gives you a lot of power and top notch suspension. A little heavy, no reverse and slightly clunky tranny kept me away from it though. Hard to argue with that power though. Probably the best value out there now. If it ever gets reverse and a smoother tranny, I'll probably trade the Z in on one.

I ride a down right brutal Quadzilla. When it come time to get a mild 4-stroke for the lady, we got the Predator and I've dragged a piped/bored/cammed Raptor, a piped Z, and a 440 EX with the Pred, and only the Raptor can pull away. Plus me and him are the only really good straight line riders ( we both drag sport bikes). On a half-assed makeshift race track ( OK, it's really a snowcross track in the winter) I can embarrass everyone with the Predator because of the way it handles and how it puts down the power, and only my cousin on the Z is somewhat close, and he kicks *** at the Eaton Moutain MX track (the only sponsored track in Maine), and if I trade off with him, then he gets ahead on the Predator if I'm on the Z. Of course, gimme a good fire road and my Zilla and ain't NOBODY keeping up. Anyway, my vote goes for the Predator.
