Default 700 muffler mods

Well Ive been thinking about going to and after market muffler for my 700 but befor shelling out 300bucks I welded in a piece of thin wall 1-1/2 pipe in the end of the muffler and put in back on I addad an k@N filter and a bigger main jet. After riding it over a hour It didnt fun hot and I can tell there more power and its not much louder then befor .Now just about everybody that comes into this form knows more about these things then I do can anybody think of anything I mite be hurting by running it with this setup Bill

I got the most power right off the line for sure but It feels stronger all the way though.I got to looking at it and was thinking the pipe going into the muffler is 1-1/2in and the little exit pipe is less the 1in talk about a restriction. And its not much louder.Im not sure how much horsepower it pick up but il bet its atleast 5 with the k@N and the bigger jet....
