Gas
Well, i was a little disgusted at first with my performance when i made my first couple of passes. i was running 6.08 to my best time of a 5.992
Now keep in mind that the only performance mods done to my bike during these passes was the gutted stock silencer and a 160 main with the clip on the needle at 1 postition from the bottom....besides the 13-39 gears.


Alcohol
I then changed my carb and put my alcohol modded carb on and ran it again. with the alcohol i figured id for sure get 5.8 out of it.....nope, my best pass was a 5.998 with the rest in the 6.0 to 6.1 range. i thought to myself, this thing just is not running like it should. my old buddy dave (themoose) asked me if i had tried out the clampon k&n. i says no but i have it with me. so i decided i might as well try it out. let me tell you....this thing REALLY came to life!!! i lined up and launched and did it ever rip down the track! it pulled so much harder and revved substantially higher also. i was excited to see the time slip. guess what...it went 5.777 now thats quite a boost in HP if you ask me! going from 5.92 to 5.77.
who ever says that the predator is not fast is full of it!!!!

vlnrk- that 5.77 is a dam good pass. I know of a feww hot DS that barely beat that. How were the rappys doing??? The last time i was there a lot of rapys were in the 5.8's

 

Bobby that is good. When you start dropping tenths of a second or more on the 300ft that's definitely a good power increase. I think you tune on it some more you might get a little bit more out of it. But for a stock top end I would say that's pretty damn good.Bubba

 

14mins - i was so busey last night with my R and the predator that i never had a chance to mingle with the racers. themoose had me run his rappy twice, the best i could do was a 5.8, he was going 6.0 with it. today i will be paying more attention to who is running what, and post some more #'s tonight or tomorrow. fellas...i am very pleased with the predator, i knew it felt as fast as my raptor was on alcohol. now i can do some fine tuning with gears and i believe it may go down to 5.6


bubba - thanks for the support, you know, alot of fellas like us who do our own tuning and tinkering will probally sell more polaris quads when people see how well they perform!

Vilnrk, what kind of carb are you using for alcohol, what kind of jetting ???

 

I have an update.............5.67 is my fastest yea baby!!!! I love alcohol!!!...that is for draggin'

o and BTW my bike has 13-39 gears and running it to 4th it hit 52 mph everytime, and 4th is wound up real tight. could possibly shift to 5th but its just not worth the possibility of a missed shift after all its about consistancy in bracket racing.



now i want to run the 1/8 mile asphalt drags......
