I traded an 01 HO with 4000 miles on for a 600.. Have had no problems {1400 miles on now} other than throttle cable stretches. Have had to adjust a couple of times.^00 has a lot more torque and uses about the same amount of fuel. Has a great sound!

Mine runs like a top. Seems to be bullet proof from every thing I have read so far.

I bought one thursday, first quad I've ever owned but I grew up on dirtbikes so I know a good machine. After a month of reserch I decided on the 600.I've only got 60 miles on it but 50 of them on some of nastiest dirtbike trails , hills and skidder trails Oregon has to offer .The 600 is outstanding , it can be tricky on muddy down hills due to the engine braking system but it took me about 20 minutes to get used to the technique it takes to desend in mud. I generally never post ,I like to read more but I had to relay that I am very pleased with my 600.

Owned my 2003 since October 2002, no problems so far. Even rolled it and it started right up.

Default SPORTSMAN 600 PROBLEMS

Spark plugs are an issue w/the SP600. Like Snowride suggested, I swapped the Champion spark plugs w/the NGK's, and that seems to have fixed the issue. The bike even feels stronger. The radiator hoses are too close to the fram in the front. I found this out Friday night when riding. My hose had a 1" cut into it from the fram, and just about all the coolant came out. I had to put stream water in the bike to get it back to where I could be toed home. Alot of the delers have not stocked parts for the sp600 and sp700. So of couse when I went Saturday to get a new hose, they would have to order one. Called the next closest shop, and the same problem. My dealer took a hose off a new sp700 to fix my problem for me. Other than the spark plugs being a BIG issue, the bike has been doing great. I think you will enjoy it alot. You will like the way the new trans. works ver. the sp500. The sp600 turns alot better than my 02 sp500 did, and the guage podd is more up todate. I still would like a pull start in case the battery fails! The Grizz. 660 has one, I think that Polaris could do it as well.

Hope this was helpfull.

I am using (NGK BKR5E). These are the ones my dealer gave me to try out, and so far no problems.
