The Explorer would take it easy. That 400 2-stroke has got some power, the Wolverine doesn't have a chance.

Explorer 400 will beat the Sportsman 500HO in a drag race. My dealer told me the opposite, but then made the mistake of trying to prove it to me. No matter if me or the Dealer were on either machine, the 400 would steadily pull away from the 500HO. Throwing a clutch kit on the 400 makes the performance gap even greater!

Xplorer 400 and a 500Ho, It would be close. My Sportsman feels quicker and the top end is faster than my Xplorer. With the HeelClicker clutch in the Sportsman now, I'm confident that it would be no contest off the line now.

From past experiences with my 3 previous Xplorers I can tell you that the wolverine is very close to the Xplorer 400, with a very slight edge towards the 400.

my cousin and my freind drag raced a 95 explorer 500 and a 98 wolverine, the wolverine won but the explorer wasnt up to top speed and it was on gravel and the explorer was spinning about half the way
