HELP!! Case for Scrambler 400
#1
I was out riding at Dumont this weekend and decided to take a ride down a creek trail.
I hit the water at my Quad died. It stalled out and cracked the cases at the base where the cylinder head attaches to the bottom end. And I think I cracked the cylinder too.
Question: Where can I get cases for a Polaris scrambler 400.
And who does a good rebuild. I was thinking of Hot Seats 400 Exterminator Kit. But like I said I think the cylinder might be cracked too. Heck I’m just looking for some advise on what to do.
Thanks

I talked to Hot Seat today.
They said that they could do the Terminator 400 kit . the 440 Big bore kit and do the cases for $2400.00.
Does that seem right/ Is that a good price?
$1600.00 Terminator 400 Kit
$ 250.00 big Bore Kit
$ 289.00 Cases
$ 150.00 Labor
$ 50.00 bearing
$ 30.00 seal
--------------------
$ 2369.00 Total

Check with HPD or Rick Ritter for engine related work or problems. Also check with your dealer
I had a cylinder break a corner and crack both case halves and polaris replaced all the parts even though it was two years out of warranty.

This is high from hotseat. Even if everything is junk it would only cost you $1600 threw mw and if you add porting $250 hpd billet head $230 I wouldn't use the hot seat head (Has No Way TO samwich the cylinder to keep the cylinder from braking again). I would not go to a big bore unless you have to. It is a waste of cylinder boring. Call me 602 696 5875

A new set of cases is only $300 . They come with bearings and seals installed and new bolts . It is simple, dab on a little sealer and put a crank in them and you are ready to go again . The value of the bearings and seals is over $125 . New cases are very reasonable for what you get .

Dennis, not to get off the subject, but i've asked Rick,HPD, and CP about the timing advance on the alky motors. HPD says keep it stock at 0. Rick wasnt real sure either. CPI says +2. What is working good on these? How's that stoker running also? Thanks,Bubba
