Why isn't there a pull rope start on 600 and 700

My dealer told me Polaris said it is possible to pull start a 700 but they had tried with no luck, but he also said they tried it in low range. It would be interesting to try it in high range. Any time you push or pull start a vehicle with a manual tranny, it is much easier to turn the motor over with the tranny in one of the higher gears.

You probably won't be ten miles back in the middle of nowhere in your mini van when the battery craps out either. I do a lot of hunting by myself and if my starter or battery fails I will be walking for a while. I hope it never happens but I have thought about it.

I own a 2001 500 HO. I have used the pull rope to start it. I am not really informed on pull rope starting larger engines than a 500. I wondering if they put pull ropes on snow machine engines larger than 500cc or is the compression different on two strokes that a 2 stroke engine is easier to pull start with a rope?

wrong wrong wrong again, my dealer says it doesn't have a recoil backup because the engine is already way to wide for the chassis and there wouldn't be enough room for your feet.

Maybe Polaris needs to have "Trail Side Assistance", like Chevy, Ford, and Dodge have "Road Side Assistance". Maybe OnStar can be installed on my SPortsman 700.

It shouldn't be a compression issue, you would really only be fighting 350cc not the full 700. 500's are bad because your fighting one big piston, not 2 with each having half of the compression.
