Just wanted to say, pray for our forces as war grows closer. Whether or not you are for the war or not, everyone should be behind them, and I hope they come home soon and safely.

I had to laugh when Soddom Hoosain said that they will have a soldier behind every rock and shrub waiting to die for their country.

It reminded me of the opening scene from the movie "Patton" where Patton says:

"No soldier ever won a war by dying for his country. They won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

You do have to admit, he was (and still is) right.

 

The sad part is, He is telling everyone that Iraq will win the war, I got a big laugh out of that.
If they are going to wiin the war, then they must have something BIG to do it with, hmmmmm.

how could Saddam win the war? If his troops killed all our troops as they arrived, every time we sent more in? then what? Is he going to hop a commercial flight over here to invade the US? I can see him and the Republican Guard trying to go through customs. Seriously, what do you think would constitute a win for him?

During Desert Shield/Storm I worked at a pizza place, the Greeks who ran it loved talking about how the US was going to get our asses kicked when we went to Iraq. I tried to explain to them, having been in the Marine Corps, that our military was so technologically advanced and that we have so much hardware that the camel jockeys could not hope to put up a fight. They didn't believe it until they saw it.
Remember the incident from a couple weeks ago when the US was doing a live fire training exercise in Kuwait and Iraqis crossed the border to surrender? They damn sure don't want to fight.

The reason he is acting like that, is that the truth is being kept from him. He is kind of living in his own little world. He has a group of people around him that are afraid of giving him bad news. Because giving Saddam Hussain bad news is like signing your own death warrant. So he is deluded into thinking that everything is "Hunky Dory" when it isn't. The same with his sons too.
