Default Bought a new 600

Well I finally got one. I broke down and got a new 600. What a bike! I got the green after looking at a black and silver that had been ridden hard, and it looked terrible. I thought the green would not show the scratches as much.

Does anyone have any ideas or things that I should do to the bike to make it perform better for trail riding (mostly hunting). Also does anyone know where I can get a chrome double tube bumper for the front and back that will still work with a winch?

thanks for the info, but I could not find one on the web site that is chrome. What mods should I do to the bike to make it run better. What things should I check regularly to maintain the bike in good working order? Any info or opinions on this bike would be nice.

Did you go to POLARISINDUSTRIES.com?I don't have a 600 or 700,opted for the 500ho.I know they changed up a few things. All i do is grease it after every HARD ride (17 grease fittings),check all CV boots, air filter, good cleaning always after EVERY ride.

Make sure you grease it good after you wash it, every time. If you dont, you will notice a lot of squeaks, which those little sqeaks coudl turn into big problems later.
Just grease, change the oil on a regular basis, and hub fluid if i remember correctly? Had my Magnum for over 3 years, not one problem.

How often does the hub fluid need to be changed? Do you guys think that a heelclicker clutch kit would be worth investing in? I'm not out for top speed, but more for uncompromised power in the hills.

On my 03 700 there isn't much to grease, only the 2 grease fittings on the bottom of the struts for the ball joints and the front prop shaft yoke. I put the Polaris brushguard on mine, it really looks good and offers some protection for the front end and radiator.

I noticed you changed out your tires (from your sig). Is it a worth while upgrade, didn't you like the stock Goodyear Raw Hides?

I liked the Rawhides okay, I just like big mud tires and the increased ground clearance. Those 28s just look like they belong on the 700!

You need to change the spark plugs first thing to some NGK's, second you need to make sure the water lines are clear from rubbing against the frame of the bike. The way the lines are ran, the bike can cut into the lines while u r trail riding. No fun when ur on the trail, and you have no fluid!

"I got the green after looking at a black and silver that had been ridden hard, and it looked terrible. I thought the green would not show the scratches as much."

Accually, I got my bike in Dec. 02. I have around 500 miles on it, and eventhogh I wash it after every riding, it still looks like it is a 2 year old bike. I also got the green, because the other colors would have delayed me picking the bike up.

You asked about the chrome bumper. I would suggest u not get chrome, because they are plated chrome. Soon as you bump into something one good time, the chrome starts to come off. If you had a colored bumpers, you could simply repaint them.

Hope these things help, and enjoy your new toy.
