Default spring not white?

hey, i finally got my clutch spring from my dealer and it is suppost to be a white primary clutch spring. they didn't know what i was talking about when i said i wanted a polaris white primary clutch spring, so i was told that a 2001 scrambler 400 2x4 has a white spring stock so i ordered it. The dealer said that the cerial # was different on the scramblers spring than it is on the magnums spring. but when i got the spring it was just the colour of the metal it was made of not white. did i get the right spring?

In my opinion and dealing with springs...no. My 1998 Scrambler 400 came with a plain primary spring from the factory. Normally a spring will be a certain color to help identify it from the many others out there. Just my opinion I could be wrong.

when i got my white spring,it was grey metal color.Looked to have been bead blasted.like small, small pits. There was a white spot on one of the flat ends.I didnt think it was white either until my dealer pointed out white"splash" on the end.

Yes, it will look like a plain spring with just a hint of white on the ends or one end. If you ordered it for the scrambler, it will be the right one,Bubba

Sorry, I was wrong. I haven't seen this spring before. I am glad you got the right one though.

hey, i got the spring in. it was a longer job than i thought it would be i had to take the back plastic off to get the clutch cover off. But on newer models you could just take the floorboards off. It has lots of power now, instead of the frount end picking up like it uesd to it burns out for abour 2 feet on the road unless i put my weight to the back.
