Sorry, I should have told you that DW's brilliant journalism was on a review of sand tires
Anybody else read that nice little review. They said they tried the same set up on another machine and didn't have any problem

Hmmmm, that's funny. Cause I consider my pred much less top-heavy than a raptor. And even with my stock tires, I can bust some super roosts on dirt and sand (which I will have pics of by next week). I subscribe to Dirt wheels, but I don't know why. I don't know if I will renew the subscription. I really like atv sport though, they give honest reviews. I watched ATV Television when they reviewed the Kawi 700. ATV TV praised it, but I thought just by watching the riders that it appeared heavy to them when jumping and that coming out of corners it took a lot of body english to lean forward to keep wheelies down. ATV Sport said the same thing. I like this mag, and will prob. keep this subscription until times end. It seems like whenever DW does a new quad review it is the new king, unless it says polaris on the side. I think I would like DW more if they had less bias toward the japy machines. Polaris puts great quads out there too, but DW only puts out a good review of a polaris if it's modded or if a pro-racer gives them an interview. Sorry for venting, just my .02. Don't want to start any flaming!!!

yeah, I know. People are probably getting tired of hearing how bias DW is. Most of us know it's true. Just throwing some more evidence that way I guess for those who don't know. Though I'm probably talking to deaf ears. Either that or some yammi or zuki guy will probably come over and say to stop whinning. They're probably right. Just wish that a magazine that has such influence, and can sway the buyers decision, would be less bias.
I understand that everyone, now matter what they say, has some bias in one way or another, but to be so obvious and blatant about it is totally unprofessional.
I believe DW rides a fine line between being just bias and being slanderous

I agree with that. I've noticed more reader letters in the front of the mag occasionally accuse DW of being paid off to boost a new quads image. What I find baffling is that they did an article review of the 2003 400EX. It was basically a reprint of their 2002 article review, and they used 3 pages of print to restate that nothing on it has changed. I haven't gone home from college yet to read my new DW, but yeah, they've been jumping back and forth on whether they like the predator. I also noticed in their initial review of it, they were very finicky, loose brake hose, didn't always start in gear... But when they reviewed the Z400 last summer, the praised it despite reports of bent axles! (scratches head) I would think that bending axles would be more serious then 1 wrench turn on a brake line.

What is Dirt Wheels Magazine?
You mean that 1/2" thick catalog of ads and marketing hype??
They write articles in there? Sure they're paid off, would YOU bite the advertising dollar that feeds you?
Does anyone else hate all the stupid drawings they print from 6th graders who are bored in class instead of learning something in school?

I know what you mean about the advertising. You never used to have to read through several pages of ads to finish an article a few years ago. I understand needing advertising dollars to keep afloat, but geesh, how much do these guys pay themselves.

Hmm, I completely Agree with you guys. Both Dirtwheels and ATV-Action always favor certain Companies
and have a Grudge against the American and Canadian ones. thats BS that the Pred wont Roost, its hard to keep it from Roosting with all that power. These Magazine editors need to Read what they write and realize how bad they bash polaris, and they need to Admit that Honda and Yamaha are NOT the best companies. in my personal Opinion, i think a Pred is a Much better quad than a V-force. Yet i can tell you Exactly what they will write up when they have the Predator v.s. V-force shootout. DW will say "the pred sucks and is slow, and the V-force is the Bestest there is" and ATV-Action will say "Ya the vforce Handles good, and it Rides good, and has good Power and handles good, and the pred has problems and we hate Polaris". ATV-Sport is the ONLY mag that will tell you Strait out the good, the bad and the ugly about any quad they test. I still have the issue where ATV sport did the first ever test of the Raptor, and the Transmission had Problems. yet DW or ATV action will fix it during testing like it never happened. and when ATV action Tested the Z against the EX, haha, guess what, the axle BROKE. yet they will complain bout a simple Brake line on the Polaris. Come on dudes, wake up and Eccept the fact that Japan has been BEAT.
