In my opinion, Twin Air or UNI are superior to K&N. I have used all three and had to end up re-building my engine because of the K&N. K&N claims to flow more air than any other, but what they don't tell you is that they flow more dirt than any other too. I also had an outerwear cover over mine and still had gobs of dirt get into my carb and motor. Twin Air and UNI are equal I think. Just my .02 and my opinions based on my usage. yea, ive kinda started to observe that, theres always some sorta buildup of crub inside the air filter and im not liking it, and i had to take my airbox unit off and wash it out cuz when i re-do my K&N, the oil drips down in my airbox and it making a very large mess, so i think im ganna order me a UNI sometime here,o ya before i forget, do i need to also order the UNI foam filter oil and cleaner? i dont wanna buy a non oiled filter, and one more thing how often do the UNI's need cleaned often? any more info would be appreciated.

Thanks, Haz!

it really depends on the conditions where you are riding as to when you need to clean the filter. deep mud or sloppy, wet trails, you should probably clean it right after you are done, so that it doesnt dry to the filter. you can run a weekend or two in the sand without worrying about cleaning. if you are just doing moderate trail riding, you can wait a long time between cleanings.

Maddog is right about the cleaning intervals, depends on what conditions you ride in. I have used PJ1 filter oil and cleaner with no problems of running. I can tell you one difference between Twin Air and UNI . Twin Air says it is ok to wring their filter out when cleaning that it won't break down the glues or the foam, UNI says the exact opposite. I still think they are equal in quality though.

Yes, I think the UNI would work good for you with the type of riding you do, I have a UNI and am happy with it, my air cleaner is always free from build up. Just my .02.
