I've not yet been camping with the 700 we bought last fall. It's been my experience that men who cook at camp do it so much simpler than us gals who do. My question is simple. Do any of you have any simple camp recipes or ideas for food you'd be willing to share. I really am looking to keep things simple so that my hubby can have more riding time. This is my favorite:
Slow Roasted Sausage
Take a piece of Smoked Sausage and poke some tiny holes in it
Shove it on a roasting stick
Roast at just the right distance from the camp fire. You'll know the right distance by the slow leaking grease from holes.
Roast to your desired taste and if you like put on a bun with all the goodies.

Brown up a pound or two of hamburger, dump a couple cans of alphabet soup over it, and simmer to temp. You can also spice things up with good old fashioned sleeping bag warming tobasco. You can even spell out the name of your favorite quad. Food, entertainment, and heat....how's that for being resourceful?

Make a big pot of chili the night before you go camping. Put it in some big freezer bags and freeze it over nite. The morning you leave just throw the freezer bags in the cooler. Then when you make camp just put the frozen chili in a big pot and sit it near the fire, not on the fire.
Go take a nice long ride and when you get back your chili will be thawed and ready to eat.
If that's too much trouble then all I can say is.....SPAM.
