Just bought a K&N air filter for my 500 HO. It didn't come with a skin, but the Polaris paper filter had a skin on it. Should I clean the skin and put it on my K&N? Should I expect a performance difference with the skin on ?

You can reuse the skin that came with the paper filter. But you should get an outwears for the K&N. No, you wont notice a difference. But, the outwears is waterproof and will keep your K&N a lot cleaner and keep a lot of the dirt particles out. A very good and cheap investment. Only $10 through Rocky MT ATV
