Is true ?? I hope not

Here is what someone said in a reply to one of my post :
"Most Polaris 4-stroke motor last around 3500 miles before cams start to go flat."
Is this TRUE ??????????
That would suck, and mean that my new bike is only good for about 1 year ??
I put on about 300 miles a month, because where I live , you can do most
of your running around on Quad.
What Brand of bike can I buy that will have a motor that will last more than 3500 miles ??

Total bullcrap. I ride with several machines that have 20,000mi+ on the odometer without a hiccup. Years back Polaris did release a bad batch of cams and some machines were affected with premature cam failure. Most likely the comment was derrived from that.
