Default Which CV Joint Guards?

I'm looking to get CV joint guards for my '02 Sportsman. It's $100 for front and rear guards from the Polaris dealer. Do you guys know of any other brand of guards for my wheeler? I really don't want to spend anymore than $100. Thanks for any suggestions.

My friend had bought some cycle country ones for the front of his 00 explorer they look good they seem to come up in the back a little from what he says he thought they were the best ones for protection wise, he looked at moose ones but found the cycle countrys seemed to be a better buy, idk if cycle country makes them for all four indepent he paid $50 for the front set at a local dealer, this might help....

I like the big plastic stock ones the best.I have them on my Sportsman and Oxlite on my Magnum and I have had sticks get in the Oxlite and poke on my boots. Not to mention they hold mud and crap real bad.

I wouldn't recommend the Pure Polaris plastic ones. IMHO they are a waste of money. Maybe others had better experience with them. They are flimsy and just get pushed into the boot, popping the boot off. I had this happen 3 times, then I took them off and they are now somewhere in the garage. The stock ones are way better than these. If I were to do it all over again, I would either keep the stockers or go with stronger steel or aluminum ones like Oxlite or Cycle Country.

Im the friend of Big bad brads that has the cycle countys, i wud definatly not go with the plastic stockers, i had the ones off of a sportsmen put on mine when i bought it thinkin that would solve some problems, lol what was i thinking, i wud definatly go with some aftermarket ones, i love the cycle countrys and thought they were a descent buy, the oxlites have proven themselves, but personally, if your gonna spend the money on the oxlites, you can spend like 5 dollars more and get the cycle countrys and have added protection due to that they come up on the rear of the a-arm, as for your rear ones, i have no clue of a company that makes them, ive never seen them accept for the lil tiny ones that polaris puts on them factory, all i can think is if you buy the plastic ones from polaris that just cover the underneath? but i wud definatly recommend the Cycle country for the front. just my 2 cents

Good Luck, Haz!

ya the plastic ones stink my cousin had them on his 425 when he had it and a stick pushed one n far enough and the boot sucked it in between that and the strut there was nothing left of his boot in about 5 mins.

as for the back ones when i had my cat i had a metal shop make me some i just made a cardboard template and they cut and bend a set for like 15 bucks.

When I referr to the stock ones I mean the big stock plastic ones on the older Sportsman not the little junky things on 425 Magnums.I changed the small ones on my 425 to the steel type but they hold mud and snow real bad(along with sticks) where the big plasic ones dont.
