Default Trail boss governor problem?

My moms 2000 polaris 325 trailboss has a problem. Yesterday at dumont when she would rev it kind of high it starts to sputter a little and acts like there is some kind of governor that is not working right. It has never done this before. Anyone have any ideas? THanks for any help you can give.

It could be a ton of things. Air cleaner clogged, spark plug fouled defective or worn out, spark plug loose, spark plug cap bad or not connected properly, CDI box bad, ignition coil bad, main jet clogged, bad gas/old dirty, fuel tank air vent pinched, loose intake, fuel line/filter clogged or partially clogged, compression low, carbon build-up, throttle or ETC out of adjustment, clutch belt slipping, brakes dragging, bad/old oil, etc. Check all the easy stuff first, find out when it happened and what lead up to it. Was maintenance done properly? Just have to go down the list and eliminate things one at a time. It is very hard to diagnose without actually being there and experiencing it. If anyone else can think of anything I left out, throw it in.
